Daylight Savings Time and BIOS/OS Upgrades

Because the U.S. Government is changing the dates for daylight savings in 2007 there is some concern that a BIOS or other hardware changes may be necessary. This is not the case. While the BIOS does not need updating, the following operating system fixes have been implemented.

                  Windows

Microsoft has incorporated an update for Daylight Savings 2007 into Microsoft KB928388 - Visit the web site for details.

The Microsoft fix is covered in current pre-install on all new systems

Windows Update is covering existing customers

HP-UX

Support was included in patch PHCO_34342 for HP-UX 11.11

                     Red Hat

There is information in the Red Hat KnowledgeBase (kbase) on what needs to be done to get the correct daylight

savings support for the different versions of Red Hat. The functionality is there.
